Nearly 20 years later, Jenny McCarthy is baring all – again!

The Love in the Wild host, 39, will be featured on the July/August cover of Playboy, a rep for the magazine confirms to PEOPLE.

The mom of one, who also will strip down for a nude pictorial, first posed for Playboy in 1993. She later received the Playmate of the Year title.

The TV personality’s latest photo spread comes just before she turns the big 4-0 in November.

McCarthy has always worked hard on her fitness, but said in 2007 that she does sometimes splurge.

“I have my once-a-month nachos,” she explained, “but it’s [got] soy cheese and turkey chili on it, so it’s somewhat safe. But it’s still a big vice for me, because I have a big bowl of it.”

Mary Kennedy, who committed suicide by hanging herself, had battled depression for years, her estranged husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says.

“A lot of times, I don’t know how she made it through the day,” Robert tells The New York Times. “She was in a lot of agony for a lot of her life.”

He adds: “I don’t think anybody who was around her didn’t do everything that they could to try to help her.”

Robert, the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, filed for divorce from Mary in May 2010 after 16 years of marriage. They had four children together.

The body of Mary, 52, was discovered Wednesday in the garage of her home in Mount Kisco, N.Y., according to reports.

Mary’s family, meanwhile, issued a statement blasting “certain news organizations” for portraying her in a way that is “wholly inconsistent with the sister we knew and life she, in fact, lived.”

“We loved Mary and knew her to be an exceptional mother, sibling and friend to many,” says the statement. “Countless people have described her as an extraordinary mother, selfless in her desire to help others, and one of the finest people in the world.”

A private memorial service was set for New York City.

American Idol: Who's Singing in the Finale?

Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips

FOX

After a marathon performance night, which had the contestants singing three songs each, American Idol‘s top three – Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips – faced the final elimination on Thursday.

And even though the contestants say they’ll be happy for whoever wins the competition, only two of them will be able to compete in next week’s finale.

Keep reading to find out who that will be – and who was sent home Thursday in third place …

After almost an hour of filler, recap of the night before and performances by Lisa Marie Presley and Adam Lambert, Ryan Seacrest finally revealed the results.

After nearly 90 million votes, Jessica and Phillip are season 11′s finalists. That means Joshua, arguably the season’s most talented singer, was eliminated.

“I want to win, but at this point we’re all winners,” Ledet, who hugged the judges while singing “It’s a Man’s World” to end the show, told PEOPLE on Wednesday. “I’m not gonna say I don’t care, but I will be just as happy about me winning or two of my friends, Phillip or Jessica.”

TV’s top time-period battles this fall

Author: shongraham  |  Category: Universal 100th  |  Comments (0)  |  Add Comment

(EW.com) — With the fall TV schedule now complete, we get to step back and take a look at the hellish battleground that broadcast hath wrought.

There’s some very tough-to-predict match-ups this fall:*

Tim Allen vs. Whitney Cummings (Fridays, 8-9): “No, my show’s lamer!” ABC and NBC have their low-expectations comedies airing on Fridays this fall, and they might run head-to-head depending on when NBC launches (ABC’s comedies premiere in November). NBC has “Whitney” and “Community” and ABC has “Last Man Standing” and new comedy “Malibu Country.” (“Community” fans, if your a** beat by Reba McEntire and Lily Tomlin, we have no words for you). At least 9 p.m. shows “Shark Tank” and “Grimm” will have half-way decent lead-ins for once. Our prediction: Edge goes to ABC.

Britney Spears vs. Christina ‪Aguilera‬: OK, so one this is kind of a cheat. “The Voice” and “X Factor” won’t air on the same nights, let along in the same time period. But if you think their lack of head-to-head scheduling will matter to the media, you deserve to be hit, baby, one more time. Everybody will obsess over how these two compare. NBC’s “The Voice” has the wind at its back, averaging 6.2 in the adult demo this season compared to “X Factor’s” 4.4. We all want to see how Spears handles the reality show spotlight, but many wonder if she can pull off being entertaining and analytical. Mark Burnett cast “The Voice” with big names who are charismatic and have the cojones to criticize a singer. Simon Cowell seems to like big names — who are just big names. Prediction: You can’t hold down Xtina.

Two and a Half Men” vs. everything else (Thursdays at 8:30 p.m.): My have times changed. Back in the day, “Men” was the star that helped to launch new comedies. Now it’s been reduced to living in “The Big Bang Theory’s” shadow on Thursday. Has CBS lost confidence in the franchise? Prediction: Even at its advanced age, “Men” being reunited with its former Monday night partner “Big Bang” will dominate the slot.

“Revenge” vs. “The Good Wife” (Sundays at 9 p.m.): Who’s afraid of the big bad Sunday night? When ABC announced “Revenge” was moving to Sundays, fan reaction was like the show was being shipped off to Oxygen. There are still a ton of viewers watching on Sundays, but it’s not the easiest place for serious broadcast dramas to compete: Smart and sophisticated programs on HBO, Showtime and AMC remain the must-watch priority for many viewers (which might be one reason Fox’s animated comedies thrive here — they’re great counter programming). Prediction: While “Good Wife” is unlikely to grow, “Revenge” — currently higher rated than “Good Wife” — will gain a stronger lead-in thanks to “Once Upon a Time” than it typically received on Wednesday nights and could plot a victory.

Kaling Deschanel vs. Perry Van Der Beek (Tuesdays, 9-10): Look at the 9 p.m. hour on Tuesday. No really, look at it: Six comedies on three networks. It’s a sitcom sigalert, a comedy battle royale. Fox was starting to get some traction with its comedy block on Tuesdays, so now everybody is loading up with their own half hours in this space. At 9 p.m., Zooey Deschanel will face off against Matthew Perry’s new NBC comedy “Go On” and ABC’s “Happy Endings,” while 9:30 p.m. has Mindy Kaling’s new comedy “The Mindy Project” vs. Ryan Murphy’s inspired new show called “The New Normal” and ABC’s Jason Van Der Beek starrer “Apt. 23.” Lead-in will matter: “Go On” will have “The Voice” and “Happy Endings” will have “Dancing With the Stars.” Prediction: Super tough to call against so many shows we haven’t yet seen. We’ll give incumbent “New Girl” the odds at 9. At 9:30, “The Mindy Project” might — might — squeeze out a victory given “Apt. 23′s” recent modest ratings and the fact “The New Normal” is on NBC, which has had a rough track record for launching new shows. (At the same time, “New Normal” played a lot better at the upfronts this week with advertisers while Mindy came across as a show in need of a … show. Just saying.)

“Glee” vs. “Grey’s Anatomy” vs. “Person of Interest” (Thursdays, 9-10):Grey’s Anatomy” is higher rated but “Glee” will have a better lead-in with “The X Factor.” Still, both shows appeal to a similar female demographic — assuming the chicks will still be invested in “Glee” once they learn who may go next season. (For more on who may be out the door on “Glee,” click here). That’s why CBS may have a real opportunity; while Fox and ABC duke it out over the females, the men may throw their hands up and see what’s up with Jesus’, er, Jim Cavaziel’s show. Prediction: “Grey’s” by a nose (in 18-49). “Glee” by a mile (in young viewers). This one is gonna be juicy.

*Do time periods still matter? Yup, otherwise networks could run shows at 3 a.m. and expect to get the same rating at 9 p.m. In fact, even factoring DVR use, shows running against heavy time-period competition are still likely to have a lower rating than a show up against repeats. Plus, advertisers and networks place a disproportionate amount of emphasis on live or near-live viewing.

The best of the White roast

Author: shongraham  |  Category: Universal 100th  |  Comments (0)  |  Add Comment

Betty White's roast ceremony had some pleasant surprises.

(EW.com) — Betty White’s recent roast was handled with more delicacy than most.

After all, America’s adopted grandmother is 90 years old. That said, she’s still intimidating, considering her boundless energy and eighth-decade career resurgence. Indeed, even Uggie from “The Artist” showed signs of stage fright during an interview with roastmaster Barbara Walters. From the red carpet to the roasting dais, the stars mostly kept it clean for the beatific blonde, but never fear. I’ll skip the sanitized bits and get right to the good stuff. Click through to find out who was best, worst, and most surprising at White’s roast.

Most pleasant surprise: Bethenny Frankel. That’s not to say the Skinnygirl’s jokes lacked bite. She ran down a list of things she and White have in common. Among them, alcohol: “I invented the Skinnygirl Margarita. She invented Prohibition.” Still, it was nice to see the reality maven use her razor tongue to get a laugh instead of to bust her husband’s b***s. Even better, before Frankel even began, White asked to borrow the youngster’s sky-high stiletto, pointed at the heel, looked at the audience, and improvised, “This is longer than most of the men here.” Zing!

Least pleasant surprise: Lisa Lampanelli. And I mean that as a compliment. The brassy comic, who was just fired from “The Celebrity Apprentice,” showed up unannounced to school the rest of the roasters on how an insult is really dished out.

Most cringe-inducing roast: I love “The Office’s” Oscar Nuñez, but his out-of-nowhere jokes about how the last living “Golden Girl” is a racist abortion addict were met with uncomfortable silence. He would have done better to give White the same lap dance he gave to Sandra Bullock in “The Proposal.”

Go-to audience morale booster: Abe Vigoda reaction shots. Obviously.

Best topical references

– There were not one, not two, but three shout-outs to John Travolta’s recent sex scandal, the best of which was in a pre-taped bit by David Letterman. In his “Top 10 Little Known Facts About Betty White,” No. 4 was “Has been known to make inappropriate advances on male masseurs.”

– Joy Behar joked that Walters “tried to turn on ["View" panelist] Elisabeth Hasselbeck by dressing up as Mitt Romney” and “tying the family dog to the roof of the car.”

– Roast fixture Jeffrey Ross called White “the only person who truly saw Titanic in 3-D” and said that she thought “50 Shades of Grey” was about her hair…down there.

Requisite Kardashian reference: About White’s Snickers Super Bowl ad, Ross quipped that he “thought Kim Kardashian was the only one who got famous for putting chocolate in her mouth.”

Oddest musical interlude: Liza Minnelli sang a penis-pun-filled riff on Cole Porter’s “You’re the Top.” That is all.

Classiest act: Walters. She summed it up best with her opening jab: “Yesterday, I was talking to the president of the United States. Today I’m talking to a bunch of second-rate comedians and a dog.” Walters stuck to “This is what it’s come to” eye rolls and dry-as-a-bone jokes over the tawdry topics that tend to populate these ceremonies. Speaking of which…

Least surprising joke trend: “Betty White is an old slut.” These words were never actually uttered, of course, but the writing was all over the wall. Not to say the jokes weren’t hilarious. Some highlights:

Walters, in a rare copulation joke: “[Betty was] the first woman to do Shakespeare in the Globe Theater — literally, she did him in the balcony.”

Hot in Cleveland costar Jane Leeves: “Betty is so old, she babysat Larry King. [Valerie Bertinelli on seeing King on the dais: "Oh, I thought he was a leftover Halloween decoration."]

Larry King: “Betty, at your age, it’s a fine line between a roast and a cremation…. Betty is so old, she remembers the first days of Pompeii. She’s so old, she thinks I’m jail bait.”

Lampanelli: “Betty is a Renaissance woman — she was born in 1543…. On her first game show, the grand prize was fire.”

Ross: “The Friars Club is the only place where Betty can meet older men. Who did your make-up? Tim Burton? Where do you shop? Forever 71?… More men have died on top of Betty [who had three husbands], than Mount Everest. Her tramp stamp is in Sanskrit.”

- Freddie Roman: “The Last Supper was the first roast you attended.”

Best passive-aggressive retaliation: Rounding out the ceremony, White skipped the traditional chance to fire back at her roasters (because Lampanelli “stole all [her] material”). Instead, she gave a grandma-appropriate speech, complete with backhanded compliments like, “I really had a good time…and I didn’t expect to.” Touché, Betty, touché.

Matthew McConaughey Didn’t Use a ‘Stunt A–’ in Magic Mike

Matthew McConaughey Didn't Use a 'Stunt A' in Magic Mike | Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey in Magic Mike

Glen Wilson/Warner Bros.

When Matthew McConaughey gets cheeky in his new movie, Magic Mike, rest assured, it’s definitely him.

“That’s all me up there,” the actor tells the Advocate in a new interview of (mostly) baring it all in his striptease scene. “I don’t need a stunt a––.”

As for the exposure, the actor says he just wanted to go for it.

“I said, ‘I gotta dance, man.’ I would regret it for the rest of my life if I was in a male stripper movie and didn’t get up there and strip myself,” he says, noting that his big scene wasn’t initially in the script. “At first it was scary as hell, but then it became like a drug and I couldn’t wait to do it again.”

“Look, I love to dance,” the father of two says, “but I’ve never been a stripper. [Costar] Channing [Tatum] is one of the best hip-hop street dancers I’ve ever seen, and I didn’t want to challenge his style, so I worked on my own strengths. I also knew that my dance had to be the dirtiest. It had to be wonderfully filthy.”

The movie, which also stars Joe Manganiello, hits theaters on June 29 – and McConaughey, 42, says it kept him focused on fitness.

“Boy, if you really want to get men in great shape, just tell them they’re going to play male strippers in a movie and have their s–– on screen for the rest of time,” he says. “Vanity, baby!”

Mary Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy, committed suicide by hanging herself, according to a report.

The body of Kennedy, 52, was discovered Wednesday in the garage of her home in Mount Kisco, N.Y., by a housekeeper, sources tell ABC News.

Bedford, N.Y., police were called to the home at 1:36 p.m. Wednesday to investigate a “possible unattended death.” Police confirmed they found a “deceased individual” on the property, owned by Mary and Robert Kennedy.

Robert, the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, filed for divorce from Mary in May 2010 after 16 years of marriage. They had four children together.

Her family said in a statement this week: “We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her. Our heart goes out to her children who she loved without reservation.”

The Bachelorette's Emily Maynard: 'I'm Feisty and Sassy'

Emily Maynard

Emily Maynard would not reveal if she found a fiancé while filming The Bachelorette during a conference call with reporters Wednesday, but the Charlotte. N.C., sweetheart did tease that she “was happy before the show, but really happy now.”

“I had a million reservations and I said no to anybody who would listen. But time went on, we started talking again, and they were so accommodating that it was [too] great an opportunity to pass up,” the 26-year-old single mom explained. “I had a great group of guys. I had the time of my life and learned so much about myself. It was the best experience getting to travel and to give Ricki the opportunity to see things she wouldn’t have otherwise.”

She also spoke about filming with daughter Ricki, 6, meeting the men on the first night and what she wants in a mate …

The Real Emily: “The guys came in having an image of me in their head but as they got to know me better, they all said, [I was] nothing like they thought I’d be and that it was a good thing. I’m feisty and sassy. It takes a little bit for me to really feel comfortable but I’ve never been called ‘boring’ in my normal everyday life.”

What a Girl Wants: “I wanted somebody who was at a point in his life where he wanted to get married, have kids and step into my life and [accept] everything that I bring. I was scared they [wouldn't want] to date a single mom and that was an issue at one point, but most guys were on board.”

Explaining the Cameras to Ricki: “I like to keep her sheltered. She’s not at an age where she can even begin to understand the reason for the cameras. I told her it was for a very elaborate home video that she could watch way down the road. … Ricki’s life was not really affected at all. She was very protected throughout the entire process. She didn’t see the guys. I got to spend a lot of time with her, take her to school and do all my mom stuff.”

How to Win Ricki Over: “Six-year-olds are pretty easy to figure out. You play a game with her 15 times and give her candy and she’s your best friend forever.”

Emily’s Dating Style: “If I was a single 26-year-old without a daughter back home, I’d be doing the same things the other Bachelorettes did. But Ricki is at the forefront of my mind with dating and everything. I wouldn’t get in a hot tub on a first date in my everyday life so I sure as hell am not going to do it on [TV].”

Which Guys Got Noticed Right Away: “I loved Ryan’s note. That was sweet and endearing. Jack rolling in on a skateboard was so cool. Even the cheesy ones were great icebreakers because you are so nervous. But Travis with the egg was a tough one even in the moment. And some of the guys who didn’t make the strongest first impression really surprised me.”

Helicopter Guy’s Entrance: “Honestly, it was [too flashy]. I would take a classic pickup truck over a brand new Ferrari any day. If [Kalon] was trying to impress me, he probably took the wrong approach. But he’s very unique.”

First Impression Rose: “[Doug]‘s a great-looking guy and so sweet, but more than anything I know what it’s like to take a chance at love and have to leave the biggest piece of your heart back home. The fact that he had enough faith in me to leave his son really meant a lot and I wanted him to know it wasn’t something I took lightly.”

Having More Kids: “I would take any that I could be blessed with but ideally I would like four.”
